Passing was created during March 2020 - July 2020. At the beginning of the stay at home order I was reflecting a lot on life and (of course) death/the passing of time. For me this piece became about the lives lost, both from COVID-19 and from injustice in the world. All the people where it was not yet their time to leave this world and yet they were abruptly taken from their friends and families.

Maggie Freed is a Los Angeles County based artist, she graduated from California State University Long Beach with her BFA in Drawing and Painting. Her work has always been strongly influenced by color theory, pattern, and light. Currently her work is focused on the passing of time.
