2020 brought the world an exponential loss of life. However there’s some people left behind on earth who are still fighting.

Fighting for a better world to coexist in, fighting for dignity, fighting for the right to exist as they see themselves.

This traffic signage symbol in urban planning is used to signify a lane is merging. I used to identify and associate the theme of assimilation only in a negative context. My own belief that I thought resistance to assimilation was the only way to keep my truest form of identity. I’ve found in 2020 that my truest form is to journey through life identifying my kinfolk—those people who when looking to the future see dignity and identify that on that journeys road there’s lots of work we’re more than ready to do to get us there safely.

This piece is dedicated to the lives we lost, and to the ones here still fighting.
